The SHRI is part of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions

In September 2023, the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) accepted the SHRI as an Associated Member.

The ENNHRI is the coalition of all European National Human Rights Institutions (NHRI), which currently has 30 full members, eight members without voting rights, and eight associated members.

On 9 October 2023, a  delegation of the board of directors of SHRI took part in the ENNHRI's annual general meeting in Brussels, where it received a warm welcome. The SHRI also participated in the ENNHRI's tenth-anniversary celebrations on 10 October 2023.

The ENNHRI connects and supports NHRIs in Europe. They publish statements on human rights topics for the attention of European committees such as the Council of Europe and offer learning resources for various human rights subject matters. The ENNHRI supports newly established National Human Rights Institutions in their development and accreditation by the Global Association of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).

The SHRI is aspiring to a full membership status in the ENNHRI, which they can request once the GANHRI has granted their accreditation.
