Responsibilities at the SHRI
The Legal Officer coordinates programmes on legal interventions, research reports and the information platform. She is responsible for the annual human rights report, plans legal interventions and drafts position papers and reports for international bodies. She also advises public authorities and contributes her legal expertise to other SHRI projects.
Educational and professional background
Lucia Della Torre holds a doctorate in criminal law and has extensive experience in asylum law and the protection of human rights. Before joining the SHRI, she worked as a legal officer at the Swiss Refugee Council (SRC) and as a lawyer and legal representative in the field of asylum and migration in London. She previously conducted research and taught at the universities of Lucerne, Edinburgh and Milan.
